Brilliant Brewood

In the past two terms, Class 3 have been learning all about Brewood. We want to tell everyone about how brilliant Brewood really is.

 

Brewood existed as a town but is now a village. Brewood has kept it's original black and white cottages and houses with half timbered old buildings and they have original character from the Georgian and Queen Anne period.

We know beautiful Brewood has been around since 1066 because of the Domesday book. Brewood dates back to 1066.

 

Charles ll hid from Oliver Cromwell at Boscobel house and it is near Brewood. He also hid at Mosley Old Hall after Boscobel house.

 

Augustus Pugin designed St Mary's Church. He is a famous architect and he also designed the Houses of Parliament and Elizabeth Tower in London. Pugin designed lots of holy places like cathedrals and churches. The cathedrals that he designed are; St.Chad's, St. Mary's cathedral in Ireland and St. Giles in Cheadle.
